For the second consecutive year the Buyse Metal Works Group and Provan joined forces and organized an evening event at the Ghelamco Arena. Industry 4.0 was chosen as theme for the evening and how our company will fit in this story.
Dirk Torfs, CEO van Flanders Make and delivering the keynote, explained in his presentation that not only vertical integration (raw material to end product) but also horizontal integration (supplier raw material to producer to customer) will become a must in the future.
During the second part of the evening our different steps ahead for the integration of Industry 4.0 in our company have been explained. First there is the upgrade of the ERP AX Dynamics to the cloud and operational during the second half of 2020. This package will be further adapted/extended (as the second company in Belgium) to monitor machine parameters, up to 60 per second. This will allow us to better understand/control/optimize the different manufacturing steps. We also consider this necessary to stay competitive in the future.
The most important outcome of this exercise is to the advantage of our customers. The ultimate goal is to further optimize our flexibility and degree of service resulting in a reduction of cost of ownership for our customers.
To close the evening Gella Vandecaveye shared her experiences as top-judoka to make the link between top-sport (at the highest level) and top management.
